Keep in mind that the light has to make a turn to hit the sensor head on. I don't think Epson has hit the mark on this one. For a while, we were all saying that there would NOT be a digital rangefinder because of this issue. I may say it a while longer. Sure, they can design new lenses so they send light perpendicular to the sensor plane. But then we've lost the reason for its being...so we can use our RF lenses.
