I believe it is on at least version 3 of the firmware. As the 300d is a crippled version of the 10d in the electronics department I would not expect issues with the electronics of either camera. If you recall, the first production batch of 10d's had a focusing issue: some would focus a few millimeters in front of the subject. That was fixed early on and I don't see a lot of consistent beefs on the nets. The D70 has had issues with firmware leaving soft images. I believe it was in the first production run and has now been sorted out. Both of these manufacturers maintain consistent upgrades in codes that you can download from their respective sites.
