No, not really.I think it gives them something to aim for.

Well, that's exactly it. Picasso was extremely talented, but raw talent
will get you only so far. He was highly trained and probably would have
never been Picasso without that schooling. My dad used to be an opera
singer and occasionally would train younger singers, so I've seen this
theory in practice.
