On casual to fair inspection, I certainly can't tell. I have blown Nocti images up to large sizes: 16 x 20 and they hold on beautifully. Richard has a moderate size image of my Circus Oz print and may comment. You don't have to be Ted Tina or HCB to use any lens: I have hits and misses with all mine, only I suspect I have far more misses than hits on the Ted and Tina "scale". This does not deter me: the Noctilux is not a specialty lens, it is a superfast 50 which can do an admirable job at f8 and allows you to take images in situations where you would otherwise struggle.
