Come on, for Heaven's sake! No one actually thinks President Bush believes
what you imply--including you. It's obvious that he meant that WWII--the
combat portion of it--began FOR THE UNITED STATES with Pearl Harbor.

Given that even the author of a message like yours doesn't really believe
the President of the U.S. to be that ignorant, the question is why you're
making anything of a statement taken out of context. I daresay that if John
Kerry, or Bill Clinton, or even a more widely respected Republican like John
McCain, had said the same thing in the same context, the event would have
passed unremarked upon in this forum--or any other.

The other question is: Why the hell is polemics of this sort offered on a
Leica forum when the context of the subject has nothing whatever to do with
Leicas, photography, or other relevant issues? This seems like no more than
taking an opportunity to bash a disrespected American President before an
international forum. Take it to an appropriate place, please.
