My problem with that is that I can not lock in a specific shutter and aperture that is meaningful for exposure. In manual, the ISO doesn't change to give me a correct exposure. What I was interpreting Mark to suggest is that just as in "aperture priority" the aperture and ISO are fixed with the shutter speed floating: in ISO priority, I can fix the shutter speed and aperture and the ISO floats within the limits of the camera to hold the same exposure. You would need some mapping of the chip to take care of non-linearity issues; but the ability to hold a specific exposure with viewfinder information regarding the ISO would be extremely valuable to me in some specific photographic occasions. Any of the happy users of the Digilux cameras may check if they have this? I think so. You set in manual the diaphragm and the speed and, then, in the menu for ISO setting in AUTO mode, the camera will set the necessary ISO -of course in the range of possibilities of the camera, lets say 65-800, for an appropriate output. Tonight I'll check it but I think it works like that. I only use 64 ISO for avoiding noise and if the light is poor I use the flash. It would be a fine idea if the DSLR, including the R8 digital back, will have this feature. Felix _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
