I do suggest that the "enormous impact on public policy" was artificially created by greedy litigating b*sta*ds who stated under oath that they smoked for 20, 30, 40 years and never knew it was harmful. Anyone that stupid had to be brain dead from birth. I support their right to smoke, but not to sue. I also support the right of people who want to own pets to own them. The example I made of using resources for animals instead of people was just that, an example. The greater point, which really couldn't be make at the time without appearing to attack an individual on the list, was that the substitution of animal companionship for human companionship is at best harmlessly odd, and at worst immoral. I saw that I could not make that point without causing lots of flack, so I dropped the subject. I have revisited the subject to explain my intentions, and will allow it to remain dropped from this moment on. Sam S B. D.
