Leica is scared cuz the number of units sold get less each year and for them to be around, they need to embrace digital on their main product line. It has nothing to do with epson (which I think it is just doing a fun project!!) _______________________________ Regards, Mehrdad -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+msadat=kiakki.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+msadat=kiakki.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Dan C Sent: Friday, March 26, 2004 9:02 AM To: lug@leica-users.org Subject: [Leica] More RD-1 news http://www.dp-now.com/archives/000677.html Apparently only 10,000 will be made, period, and half are expected to be sold in Japan. And the price...are you sitting down?...$3500 USD. If true, this camera doesn't sound like a serious contender. If Leica was scared into making their digital M announcement by rumours of the Epson, perhaps they are now reconsidering? -dan c. _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
