She is sharing and possibly trying to teach you to hunt. Plus, your mouse population should be decreasing. I would praise her, but try to modify the behavior to drop the mouse outside. Catch her with the mouse still in her mouth, pick her up, take her outside and reward her there. I was mostly lucky with my cats, they left dead offerings at the front door, although there was a time when my current cat would bring us ground squirrels. So much fun to catch them again, and again, and again. Our cat, Snowshoes, (I wanted to name her Bigfoot but was outvoted) http://www.hemenway.com/Snowshoes.jpg ...brings at least one live mouse into our home every week and presents them to us as some sort of offering. She drops the mouse and then sits at our feet meowing and seemingly expecting one of us to catch, (and eat?) the mouse.... we can't. Bells don't work as she manages to destroy them all... and I've fastened them quite securely. Her collar and rabies/leukemia tag always remain but she somehow manages to remove either the clapper or other needed parts. Any new ideas? - -- Jim - http://www.hemenway.com Daniel Ridings wrote: >>My calico cat of 18 years is on an IV now and is not expected to come >>back from the vet as a sure thing. >>Kidney failure. >>She who slept on half my face for 18 years.
