Subject: Re: [Leica] squabbling over digitial vs. film

Shades of Ted Orland's photo captioned: "Even Ansel Adams had to make a
living." Ansel is peering out from under his focusing cloth taking a
shot for some primary school class photo.

Ansel would only endorse what he believed in. He was very much involved
in the development of Polaroid film. And he worked with many other
manufacturers. I suspect he would be more choosey than people here are
implying. In spite of his commercial side, he was an artist who was
forced into commercial work to support his wife and family - as well as
his art.

"There exists a limit to the force even the most powerful may apply
without destroying themselves. Judging this limit is the true artistry
of government. Misuse of power is the fatal sin. The law cannot be a
tool of vengeance, never a hostage, nor a mortification against the
martyrs it has created. You cannot threaten any individual and escape
the consequences."
