I do still own a F3, but have not used it in the past 5 years (only had it 6 years), although it is currently being used by our exchange student, who I recently let use my Leica SLRs. She now thinks she wants a Leica instead of the Nikon, she really likes the SL. Leica SLRs got a bad rep with the early R4s, but my own experience is they are every bit as good as the Nikons or Canons. I drag them along with me on hiking and camping trips all the time and they have held up very well with almost daily use. My R4SP just died a couple of weeks ago, but this is the first failure in 15 years. The R lenses are excellent, both optically and mechanically. You do realize that many times more professional photographers use Nikon SLRs than Leica SLRs.
