why would they want to go digital at all
would not photochemical based optics allways beat charge coupled devices and
the like?
one could imagine molecules being forced into a substrate by nanotechnology
overcoming particle size and dispersion fluctuations.
Did you read the Scientific technologies nice article about nano scale
mechanical memories were bits are actually put in place by a small sharp tip
on a cantilever(part of a grid array)?
It,s very nice and gives an overview of state of the art.
With all this around the corner why not spend your r and d on lens
technology?
I mean if their aim is still the best possible resolution and lens speed why
sacrifice some in favour of speed of processing?
They would never be able to catch up with Nikon or Canon.
By the time they had a product on the market it would be obsolete.
