It's astounding how much Lindstrom now looks like her mother did at about the same age. B. Mike Subject: [Leica] Robert Capa story on Public Television Friends, On May28, 2003 American Masters will air a story about Robert Capa... Below is the description stolen from the American Masters web page. Also, I'm told by the reliable source on Robert Capa, Disney bought the right to do a full length feature film on Capa. The screen play is being written. On opening date has been set. PIRATED INFORMATION: Robert Capa, the world's preeminent documentarian of 20th century war, photographed five epic conflicts on three different continents. A handsome, dashing figure, Capa was a life-long pacifist who wore military uniforms, rode in tanks, jumped out of planes, dodged bullets and marched in the front lines. His images have affected the lives of those who may not even know his name. The only photographer who touched land with soldiers at Omaha Beach on D-Day, his shocking pictures inspired Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan, more than 50 years later. As John Steinbeck once said, "he could photograph thought...and capture worlds." With the full participation of his brother Cornell, access to IPC and Magnum, this is the first film devoted entirely to Robert Capa's mythic life -- it is told with the help of his vast legacy of photographs and writings, at once a testament to great art and to historical horror.
