Hi Tim,

I've been reading this thread in reverse order, and just
realized you asked me directly. I haven't figured out
the best dpi value; for this particular image, I must
have ignored the dpi value (and image size) altogether
and just set the desired pixel size.

When I downsize for web use, I tried to downsize in whole
multiple of the original image. In Photoshop, I use
set Image Size, always keeping the same proportion,
and choosing a "nice" number of pixels. I then look
at the image at actual pixel size to make sure things look
reasonable. So far, I haven't had to resize my images
differently.

I am new at this diplay thing, and am trying to learn
the HTML language (anybody has a good recommendation
for a tehnical book on HTML programming ?), although
I use tools to generate the pages automatically.

And thanks for the feedback on the presentation, which to me
is very important. It's the difference from picture in shoe box
(apologies to Steve), and picture in an album. I am glad
to hear my images look good on other people's screen.
The problem of course, is that we have little control on the view
end of things.

I guess that's a long way to say I don't have a useful answer
for you, but thanks for asking :-). Great topic.
