I will take more that one exposure. The big problem I find is the movement of any people in the picture. In Europe where I was taking pictures inside churches and buildings, I used a bean bag for support or my soft courier bag. Without these, I lean against a door frame or pillar so that I become part of its solid support and hold the camera with my elbows in to my body. It works most of the time.
