My 35/2.5 developed halos due to years of knocking about on reefs. I sent it
to Nikon and it took them six months to repair. They had to wait for a new
batch of optical units to be manufactured. Specialised parts are not always
to hand and they may have to wait until their turn to be manufactured comes
up again in the queue.
