Which is why I'm surprised that people who claim there's an insignificant difference between a 28 and 35 would own the 35. After all, you can always crop down the 28 down to the 35's angle of view. But you can't do the opposite. The difference must be significant for someone to choose a 35. I think Frank made a good point in that the difference really is in the perspective. You don't really see it as much through an M viewfinder. I swapped between my 28 Elmarit R and my 35 Summicron R on my R7 last night. Viewing TTL tells the story more convincingly. Someone may prefer one focal length over the other. But I don't buy the rationale that they're too similar to justify owning both. I owned a 50mm and a 60mm for my Hasselblad. The 60 was perfect for group shots. The 50 was too wide (even if I framed both identically). I ran into problems with the 50. Had to be careful who was at the edge of the frame. ("Am I really that fat?") Never had a problem with the 60. Subtle difference to some people. Not so subtle to others. Dave
