The first thing that happened when you go back from Rodinal to D76 is you go running to your lenses to clean them off because your negs look like your glass must be coated with Vaseline in comparison. I finally could not bear going back to D76 anymore but stuck to Rodinal 1:50 instead of 1:75 or 1:100 for years. you become philosophical about grain. Hang up the big quote on your wall "Grain is the brushstrock of photography." Man Ray Sometimes the grain is quite exceptible even from 400 speed films. The results 1:25 are so boring you'd be better off with D76. Also try D76 at 1:2 instead of 1:1 you'll get sharper grain and image and amazing edge effects like Rodinal 1:100.
