Yeah, ya know, I was gonna say ... how the hell do you keep the shutter
cocked for weeks?  Just putting the camera down on a shelf is likely to fire
the shutter! OK well for me anyway.  This post might help you:

If you have a Soft Release on it , it won't stay armed more than a few 
minutes :)
I've got lots of "out of frame / out of focus / out of metering " pics . Is 
this 
becoming a new Art ?
