As someone who has a 90mm Elmar and has ordered a Jupiter 9 may I ask how
the lenses compared optically? Is it just a question of a non-rotating front
element and wider maximum aperture?

SonC,
The Jupiter 3 (50/1.5) and Jupiter 9 (85/2) do not rotate their aperture
setting when focusing. This was yet another plus for the J9 that caused me
to trade in my old Elmar 9cm/4.
