Even if every landscape photographer in California has left their footprints in the pebbles there, it is worth going. If you take the coastal highway further south (Highway 1?) you will see amazing things. If you like sand dunes, there is a whole stretch just north of Monterrey (you can see it from the highway): Sun city? something like that. If you keep going north towards Santa Cruz you will pass through artichoke and strawberry farms for "laborers working in the field" shots. There is also a fantastic juxtaposition of a big industrial powerplant in the middle of an artichoke farm about 30-45 minutes north of Monterrey on the coastal highway. The Aquarium is wonderful. If you need to chill out, head straight for the jellyfish room or tuna tank for a mesmerizing vista. Take fast film for the jellyfish. With Kodachrome 64 I was shooting f2 1/15. Jonathan Lee
