It involved grinding down the rear barrel and retaining ring so that 
almost nothing was left of the latter. You then get a 'left weighted' 
metering system, with value of the metering error dependent on how 
aggressive you were with the grinder. Didn't seem worth it to me, so 
the rear element of my SA has not been endangered yet.
