Subject: [Leica] OFF TOPIC: Carbro or Kodak Dye Transfer Processes

Does anyone know how I might achieve the color fidelity seen in
advertising photos of the late 30s or 1940s? The color prints made using
these now defunct processes seem to be of a different palette
altogether--more subtle, less saturated. Is there a film, filter, light
source combo that would mimic the "look" of these prints? I am not
really interested in having to use  Photoshop. Thanks in advance.
