I will give Contax credit for a daring Move with their SLR line and the N-1. I looked at this at the Photo East and it is a very nice camera, good feel (not like the R-8) but it is really different. I still like the thumb advance on my 8 being there when I need it for silent film advance. cheers Wilber - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Doug Herr" <merlin@flyingemu.com> To: <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> Sent: Saturday, January 06, 2001 12:51 PM Subject: Re: [Leica] Comparison of Leica SLR and Contax SLR Systmes > On Sat, 06 January 2001, "Steven A. I'm assuming this but it would make sense since their new equipment development has been directed toward the AF system(s), and the digital body due out later this year is part of the N-1 system. Leica has a very long history of maintaining compatability with the earliest R equipment, where practical. Contax looks more like they're following Canon's lead in dropping the FD series in favor of EOS. > > Doug Herr > Birdman of Sacramento > http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/telyt > ___________________________________________________ > The ALL NEW CS2000 from CompuServe > Better!
