Obviously they will send what they consider their very best and let the editors do their job. Having been an editor / judge on many projects and for news agencies over the years, the numbers aren't relevant if the photographers know the world is going to see their work. Besides the more the editors have to work from it's generally perceived they have a better opportunity of coming up with a smashing great collection. That of course depends on the photographers doing a smashing great job! Which I'm sure everyone who commits to this project is going to. Or why would one bother? Besides it'll probably go like this: There will be an incredible amount of first flush of excitement with the shoot, images by the gadzillions, then it will slow some, then surge, slow more and will probably require a shot in the butt to everyone to get at it for the run to the finish. But anyone making a commitment to this project must do so with a very strong conviction they will stay with it, as each one of us will be counting on everybody producing their picture input! Because this is an international event as we envision it, if we let it fall by the wayside, what the hell is that going to say about Leica photographers? ted
