It is compatible with all Leica M models M4-2 and later. The camera is released via the camera release button. The motor has two speeds, 1.5 and 3 frames/sec., and is selected with a combined on/off switch located on the back of the camera. Power is provided by two lithium 123A batteries in the vertical handgrip. A minimum of 100 36 exp. rolls of film is the designed capacity on one set of batteries. The Motor housing increases increases the height of the camera/motor unit by 18.5 mm. The housing is made of fibre reinforced synthetic material (PC-GF20), while the base which carries the motor and gear box is made of steel. An especially developed DC motor powers the winder and uses a very silent gear system. Weight is 10.5 oz. without batteries. The tripod socket is centered below the lens mount.
