Nor does it involve, to the disappoint of many I'm sure, the photographing of brick walls, newspapers, or resolution charts. My parents own a beach cabin on an island in the south Puget Sound. The last few times I've been down there I've noticed a few Great Blue Heron that appeared to be nesting in the area. Herons are pretty common along the shores of the Sound, and in general tend to be rather wary of people. The birds near my parent's cabin, however, seemed rather tolerant of people approching rather close. I've never had a long lense with me though when I've gotten close to the birds, so this time I packed along the 400/6.8 and 560/6.8 Telyts. I don't have alot of experience with these lenses, so do't expect Doug Herr quality, but here's a sample of the pictures I took. http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder.tcl?folder_id=51506 best of light, Tom Finnegan Seattle
