Unfortunately, I want to buy a R. Why M is more pupular than >R? Am I right to buy a R? It depends upon what you want to do. I recently sold my M stuff for an R8 and have been delighted. I have the 35/1.4 and 80/1.4 and love them. Only down side to me is the extra weight. In some instances it is easier and more accurate to focus the M but exposure with the R is superior, with the three built in metering systems. However, it took me several go-arounds with the M and R systems to finally end up with the R. Neither is inherently superior to the other, nor or the lenses as a group. Dick Hemingway Plano, Texas
