Subject: [Leica] Leicas on TV (was Leica & Beer

Hi,

there's a TV ad currently running in the UK for Audi cars in which they
feature a telephone box they designed, and which is in the Design Museum in
London. There are a couple of scenes in the ad where we see a young woman
photographing the phone box. Of course she is using a Leica. Looks like a
III of some sort, with a w/a finder on top.

So to sell their cars they boast of their skill in designing modern
telephone boxes, and they make a link to another great German design to
stress their continuity, back to Bauhaus presumably. Enough semiotics in the
ad to drive even a French philosopher (more) insane :o)

Cheers,

Bob
