Ilford aims for best of both worlds

"Ilford has announced a new b&w film, but at photokina the company
will be deserting Hall 8, the home of traditional photography, to
occupy instead the largest stand in the digital stronghold of
Hall 10. Talking exclusively to BJP, Ilford managing director Ian
Callow hailed digital products as the growth area, while at the
same time admitting that the vast majority of Ilford's business -
and even more of its profits - still arise from the sale of
monochrome films, papers and processing chemistry.

Ilford's new film is a revamped version of 400 Delta that
incorporates the same emulsion technology as 3200 Delta possible.
The new film promises finer grain and better speed than before:
push-processing is said to be a particular strength."
