My camera of choice before Leica has always been the manual (small m)
minoltas. I have several SRTs and both the XE7 and XE5.
The local shop that I take my SRTs to for CLA, won't touch the XE7. I'm
told the difference is comparable to that of working on an old "Slant 6"
compared to today's "Northstar."
In asking around the minolta community the minolta equivalent of Sherry and
DAG seems to be:

Vilmos Keresztes
VK Camera Repair
87 Dora Avenue
Waldwick, NJ 07463
(v) (f) 201 447 5257

I don't know if Vilmos is willing to look at your R3, but he is one of the
only repair folks who works on the XE, and probably well worth the call.
