rick dykstra felt the cold hand of fate:

about 3 months ago, i had a photo in the philadelphia daily news (the less
repuitable of the two philly dailies) and they forgot to give me a photo
credit. instead of freaking out, i sent a really nice letter to their
photo editior pointing it out. he wrote back, appologising and mentioning
that he really, personally, liked the photo. then about 2 weeks ago, they
did it _again_. and when i wrote to the D.N., i knew someone there, what
developes? a rapport. a name, a contact. someone i can go up to at the pen
and pencil club and say "hey, i'm kyle, the guy you talked to on the phone
yesterday." then he'll say "hey, it's great to put a name to a face. sorry
about the photo credit thing. i don't know how that slipped by. let me buy
you a drink." so he buys me a drink. oh, wait, since this is speculation,
let's say he buys me three -- no, even better, he buys me SIXTEEN drinks
and we both get blotto and the cops have to take us back to our respective
wives. "excuse me mam. sorry to wake you. is this naked monkey your
husband?"

flies. honey. vinegar. i'm sure your mom taught you all about this.

<wavey lines appear across your vision. gilligan is about to have a
dream!>

"hello? daily planet."

"hello. this is rick dykstra. i noticed that one of my photographs
appeared, uncredited, in the daily planet yesterday. on page nine, in the
article about suburban housewives who run brothels. i wanted to let you
know that i shoot a lot in that field and also, a lot of XYZ. in the
future, please don't hesitate to call me if you need a picture of
housewives, brothels, or whatnots. i live in ABC and am occasionally
available for stringer work in that area. my rates are DEF -- but please,
don't worry about the shot in yesterday's issue. i would like, however, if
you could give me a credit tomorrow in your corrections section. it makes
it easier for me to write off all these lenses come tax time. thanks for
your time."
