You get more grain with higher dilutions with most developers because you have
less sodium sulfite which is a preservative which also is a silver solvent.
Can't get more liner than Rodinal from what I've been taught and experienced it
is the most strait line developer out there. (Not what you meant i now see).
You can pull all the times you want from whoever and wherever but that first
roll is going to be a crapshoot; a starting point.
If it is a critical roll shoot a real quick roll a walk around the block, you
dog and house and run that one first.
Then you'll know where to go from there.
