I'm once again delighted by the rich, almost creamy tones of b&w images--really an almost signature quality. I know that the DR's are known for a very different character: very crisp sharpness; and the modern lenses seem almost worlds apart from the earlier models. It may be, as in nearly everything Leica optical, that you need to choose according to your particular taste and/or budget.
