Oh hell, Martin........I was just recovering from the cost of my Schneider
lenses for my Rollei! Now we are getting into some very serious territory.
having recently paid off the house, I don't want that level of debt! But,
can you really imagine??? If Leica ever were to manufacture MF optics?
The RUG has recently touched on lens 'bashing' or lens 'hacking' (where
optics from other systems have been remounted for use, as in say, Leica
Telephoto made to fit Rollei SL66), but genuine MF formated Leica would be a
joy to behold, and right up 'there' with the finest Zeiss and
Schneider.....and quite probably/possibly beyond (and not just in the $$$) .
Of course, we've seen on this list (LUG) some discussion and debate as to
whether enlargements made from images recorded by Leica glass can be
regarded as comparable with MF glass recordings. Interesting stuff.
