First: You quoted Sherri as saying your M6 was from the toughest bunch.
Two:  I'm trying to find out what bunch she's talking about.
Three:  The last of the M6's made in Wetzlar had the protection pads below
the eyelet's.  These cameras were made between 1986 and 1988 before
production moved to Solms.  These cameras had engraving, they had crinkle
finishes inside rather than plain paint, they had metal counter dials rather
than plastic.   In short, subsequent M6's began a series of cost cutting
measures.
Four: It sounds like you have an M6 which is one of the last made in Wetzlar
and one which Sherri believes to be 'from the toughest bunch'.
Five: I'm not anal, I'm simply trying to find out if the camera that Sherri
is talking about is the last of the Wetzlars.
