Leitz took the care(and expense) to make lens focusing helixes on various pitches to match the exact focal length of each individual lens. I.E.,50.2mm would get one pitch, 49.8 another. Kramer wrote that Leitz was probably the only one going to this trouble. Who knows if they still do this? And in response to the talk of putting Leica lenses on a digital camera, I love Leica RFs foremost because of the bodies. The lenses are great, but no other camera feels so intuitive and pleasant to use. Unless it felt exactly the same as my M3, I don't think I'd like to use anything else for my personal work. And even then I probably would not care for it since I don't like cameras that are battery dependant. I like having everything mechanical. One other tip. I use Scotch brand Paper tape for bulk loading. 3/4" for attaching the film, and 1" for labelling the outside of the film can. I write on this with a Sanford Ultra Fine Sharpie. Alan Magayne-Roshak
