The focussing 'tab" has two small plastic pins on the inside curve, so I drilled a couple of holes in the barrel, slightly oversized and took some emery cloth and "roughed" up the barrel surface between the holes to give the 2-part epoxy used something to grip. It works fine, but I cant stand the hood, so I went back to my older 50/2 with the plastic hood, which is a better lens ergonomically in my opinion. The collapsible hood keeps doing just that! It is always pushed in or skewed. I also found that the sleeve that the lens collapses into keeps collecting dirt and when too much is accumulated it screws up the aperture ring. My lens no longer has that hood. it was removed in a fit and replaced with a Japanese copy of the 50/2,8 Elmarit hood. Unfortunately, both my Noctilux and my Summicron 90 has collapsible hoods too. I think a small drilled hole in the hood flange and a set-screw is called for! Leicas worst hood concept was the 49mm Summicron from 1980/81. It would collapse over the aperture ring! In the end I pulled it off and threw it away (lost the ring on the front too, the one that spelled out Summicron 90 etc. Got rid of the lens after a while as I found it inferior to my old pre-1980 Big Bertha of 90/2's.
