Subject: [Leica] Kratochvil's Kit

Lugnuts:
relative to discussions on simple kits and color neg films I thought I'd
pass this on.

Antonin Kratochvil was in Tijuana for a photo conference last week.
Unfortunately I was out of town and didn't get to spend time with him,
but Leica shooter Robert Burroughs did.

Antonin (who recently pu;blished book Broken Dream on eastern Europe),
typically uses only one Nikon FE on auto exposure and a 24mm lens.
That's it. Book was done with only that except cover with a 200mm Nikon
Macro on loan. Tri-X and 3200 stuff.

But----he had been hired (believe it or not) for a Sport Illustrated
story on Portuguese festival in California, including a bull fight where
bull is not killed. Robert told me he was jealous. Antonin carried
only two FEs, his trusty 24, plus he telephono kit (hey, this is a
sports story): a 50 and an 85. And two bricks of TriX and two bricks of
color neg (since SI really wanted color).

All in a small Domke.

Freedom and a little bit of money.
