Notice that the focus dial has a green dot on it, and the aperture dial has a white dot. If you set the aperture and align the green focus dot with the white aperture dot, it sets focus at hyperfocal for that aperture, which gives maximum DOF with infinity in focus. For example, if you do this with aperture at f/8, notice that focus is at 7m. This is hyperfocal for a 40mm lens at f/8, and everything from 3.5m to infinity will be in acceptable focus. To expose ISO400 as if it were ISO800, use EV-1. Doubling the film speed changes exposure by 1 stop. Richard S.
