I have experienced this too, but for some reason, only with the .85x body.
The .72 doesn't seem to be as affected by this problem. Buy, when it
happens, it's damn near impossible to focus!

YES!!!!!!!
what causes?
A cause of debate...Some say it's the silvered strip at the bottom of the
viewfinder window

any cure?
Sort of...Take a fine-tipped marker pen and create a small black rectangle
in the middle of the rangefinder illumination window - that ridged plastic
thingy...Keep it centered, and keep it small to start with - very small,
wider than high...It should help cut down on flare, although it will make
the finder lines a bit harder to see clearly in some light....And, by the
way, you can take it back off with - GASP - nail polish remover. Been
there, done that, camera still okay.

Good luck...
