I forget what my early 90/2 was like, but my present one has the same kind of actuator. Also my 135/4, and the 135/2.8. It allows a wider cone of light from the exit pupil, and thus cuts down on vignetting due to the mount. Faster, longer lenses benefit from this, whereas the 90/2.8 lenses don't need this. BTW, I am anxiously awaiting my 90/2 APO, and as a Canadian, I think I can even live with a Canadian lens, if that's the only way it comes. * Henning J.
