Just to elaborate on my R8 and Winder R8 problems:

- -Camera switched on as motor attached, camera gets power.
- --Switch camera off and then back on, nothing!
- -With above state, open camera back and the camera comes back to life.
- -Drop in roll of film, close the back adn film advances to frame one.
- -Turn camera off and then back on, nothing! Camera is dead until I pull
winder off and re-attach it.

Now the obvious moral is: DON'T TURN THE CAMERA OFF.
I bought this winder from Jim Kuehl and has a 2 year warranty through him. I
haven't talked to him yet, but I do remember him saying that warranty
coverage was to return it to him who in turn returned it to Leica. Sounds
like a long trip to me!

Questions:

- - Has anyone had warranty work experience with Jim Kuehl and what should I
expect?

- -Has anyone had a similar experience with the R8 motot winder?

I remember someone complaining that some of the winders were defective out
of the box. The winder is new, out of the box which says it was made in
Portugal.

My concern is that the camera may be the culprit. Its the camera that does
not turn back on, but it also gets it's power from the winder.

Thanks,

Dave
