Dear Luggers,

Anyone have experience with this lens?   I'm thinking of purchasing one
for general photography as the 70-180mm is a bit too expensive and too
heavy.   I found that heavy lenses in my Canon EOS system tend to stay
home and are used less because of the bulk and wieght.  Any comments
would be appreciated.

Also, would anyone think it is wise or prudent to trade my 180mm f3.4
APO on the new 180mm f2.8 APO Elamrit-R?
