Keven,

To get you going, so you have no fear of asking, or stating, your filter
dialog...

Filters are a great subject.

Does anyone think that the LUG is better served by talking about "Japs
stole designs", scotch, Belgian beer, a giant argument about posting full
serial numbers, arguing about HCB and posed pictures, Atomic Force
Microscopy, Retina cameras, HCJB & QSL cards, Starting Cranks, and the list
goes on... ad nauseam!

Filters, lenses, film, bodies, developers, formulae, darkroom, outings,
results, photographic problems, solutions, tests, etc... seem like really
legitimate topics for the Leica Users Group.

I use a lot of useful filters. Polarizers, KR3 warming, ND, ND grad, color
grads, whatever is required to make the image on film, look the way I want
it to look.

Filters are a great way to control the light before it hits the film. They
must, however, be used intelligently. There are certain situations that
render filters harmful to the image. One needs to learn these situations in
order to avoid problems.

It is rare that I use my R camera without one of the above listed filters.
I use only a polarizer on my M camera, and perhaps on only 5% of the M
photographs.

:-)

Jim
