My camera is serial number 16496XX.  The story I was given from Leitz on this
camera is as follows.  It was originally a Photokina camera, served for a time
at Leica Schule, then it was my Leica Rep's sample camera which I then bought
as a demo camera.  In serial number listings (Rogliatti, etc.) I believe its
listed as an R3.  I got the camera sometime in the spring of 1985.

Anyone else got an older one?
