Did the same on my vacation in Pulau Langkawi, Malaysia.  The wrist
strap came apart and hit the nice marble floor of the new airport. 
Landed on its rewind crank, and bent it, rendering the camera unusable. 
The vertical alignment of the rangefinder too is off.

The repair would have been so much easier on an earlier camera.  With an
M6, you have to remove the top cover completely to adjust the vertical
alignment.   Grrr...
