The Minox 35 discussion is as good a place to start as any, I suppose. I've been an avid photographer since high school, and have now owned quite a few cameras including several Leicas. About 15 years ago I bought a Minox 35 to use while skiing, as a Leica (even a rangefinder) was too bulky for the kind of skiing I do. My Minox pictures have been uniformly excellent, so much so that it has displaced my Leica M6 as my most commonly used camera! The camera has taken a lot of abuse and hard use in extreme weather conditions, and always worked perfectly until just recently, when the shutter started to hang up. I sent it in to Don Goldberg for a $65 repair. So you can see I am a BIG fan of Minox 35s, and personally would never be without one. I just bought an R8, but no matter how good it is I doubt I will ever use it as much as the Minox given its weight and bulk. Robert E.
