Following on a number of Lug proposals, I started to reflect on Erwin's lens act. I conluded that it is a waste of time and so I will make better use of my hours. Here then my report: I shot a roll of pictures on E100SW film and put them on the light box. With my 10x Peak loupe I noted very good colours, good sharpness and plenty of detail. As I have 27 years of photographic practice behind me, I know when I see a good lens and this sure is one. But I am not so easy to satisfy, so I looked up the report by Chasseurs d'Images and indeed it confirmed my initial impression. They too spoke highly of it and its 4 star rating proved the quality. As MTF graphs are currently in vogue, I looked at photodo's site and of course in Leica's own flyer. The graphs impressed me and looked very good. They certainly confirm what I noted: this is a very good lens. Stopped down the quality became even better and in comparison with my Elmarit-R 24mm I did not noted big differences. In short, I use this lens a lot and it is a very good one. Hubert Puts)
