Cursed with what I interpret as the same problem, Walter, let me 
respectfully state why you get flamed/misread/misunderstood etc. 
much of the time. You over verbalize the issue!

Some of this could even be the fault of the reader, but the simple 
fact remains that most readers, when faced with a pile of email 
such as is generated by this list, will fly through it, parking on the 
controversial and potentially incendiary aspects.  

Say what's on your mind succinctly, old boy, and save the tomes 
for the academic environment.
